Eye-Opening Week - 10/4/2021

The Business Symposium is in a few days, Thursday, October 7th, and I can't wait for it! I am so excited to meet knowledgeable and experienced professionals that focus in various professions. This past week has been very eventful for me in ISM as I have scheduled and completed two of my Research Interviews. I met with a fashion designer that works at JCPenney on Friday morning. I learned so many new things about the role of a fashion designer that I have never thought about before the interview. I realized that fashion designers have a lot of work that falls under the business aspect of the industry like sales, merchandising, marketing and more. My second interview was on Sunday afternoon with a fashion show producer and event coordinator. She gave me insight on her responsibilities and I was so fascinated by her work! The message that she sends out through her work is so inspiring! Both of my interviews so far have been through Zoom, so I am now in the process of scheduling more hoping for a few in-person ones. Since I now have some experience conversing with professionals, I can't wait to use my skills on Thursday at the Symposium!
