Investigation Week - 9/13/2021

This week in ISM required a lot of thorough ideation considering my ultimate focus for the week was to contact specialists and develop ideas regarding my original work. Although there weren’t many assignments due this week, I put a lot of time and effort into connecting with professionals on linked in. I did extensive research on every fashion professional that I sent a connection invitation to. I'm eager to send each expert an email requesting to schedule a research interview with them since I would gain so much knowledge and clarity on various professions in the fashion industry from their experience. I have yet to receive a response from anyone, but I am hopeful that I will soon receive positive responses and feedback.


The few assignments that I had to complete this week were creating a resume draft and writing my second research assessment. Creating my resume was actually very entertaining for me because I love graphic design. Creating my linked in profile the first few weeks definitely helped shape my mindset while making my resume especially for listing out my accomplishments over the years. Through my research assessment this week, I learned in depth about fashion marketing and luxury brand consumption. In the article that I analyzed, which was titled, “Fashion Marketing of Luxury Brands: Recent Research Issues and Contributions”, there were many research evaluations that provided real-world examples of how marketing affects consumption of luxury brands. This was fascinating to read since the various ways in which customers define fashion for themselves has a significant influence on the success of brands.
